Machu Picchu is one of the favorite destinations in Peru. The Cusco region offers natural and cultural attractions, traditions that we will present in this package.

You will explore the archaeological sites and the City of Cusco and its surroundings, the famous Rainbow Mountain, and the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu.

DAY 1: Reception at Cusco Airport.

Our staff will welcome you, assist with your transfer, and help with check-in at the hotel. Afterwards, they will provide information about the city's tourist attractions such as restaurants, shops, currency exchange offices, traditional markets, acclimatization tips, and a city map.

DAY 2: Archaeological City Tour in Cusco

We will visit the archaeological parks of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay.

DAY 3: Sacred Valley of the Incas and Aguas Calientes

We will explore the archaeological site of Pisac, have a buffet lunch in Urubamba, and then visit the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo. Afterward, we will board the train from Ollantaytambo station to the town of Aguas Calientes. Our staff will be waiting to take you to your hotel and brief you on the visit to Machu Picchu.

DAY 4: Machu Picchu - Cusco

We will start our visit to the Machu Picchu citadel accompanied by a guide to learn about its history. After the tour, you will have free time to explore and rest. Later, we will descend back to the town of Aguas Calientes and return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 5: Moray and Salineras

We will visit Chinchero and learn about the traditions of the weaving houses, then explore the archaeological site of Moray. After that, we will continue to the town of Maras and visit the Salineras de Maras salt mines. Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 6: Rainbow Mountain

Today we will start very early to the town of Cusipata where you will have breakfast, then begin the 3.5 km hike offering a spectacular landscape towards the Rainbow Mountain at 5200 m.

Note: This tour requires good physical preparation.

DAY 7: Transfer from the hotel to Cusco Airport

Our transfer will take you to the airport 2 hours before your flight.

DAY 1: Reception at Cusco Airport.

Our team will welcome you, transfer you, and assist with your hotel check-in. Then, we will provide information about the city's tourist attractions such as restaurants, shops, currency exchange offices, traditional markets, acclimatization tips, and a city map.

We recommend having Coca tea or Muña tea at the hotel to help you acclimatize to Cusco's altitude, which is 3400 meters above sea level. Rest for a few hours before going for an afternoon walk. Light meals and gentle walks are recommended.

DAY 2: Archaeological City Tour in Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel.

From 08:00 am to 08:30 am, we will start the visit to the archaeological parks (Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka pukara, and Tambomachay).

From 03:00 p.m. to 05:00 p.m., we will have our first outing in the city of Cusco, exploring the historic center and local attractions.

Optional: The tourist ticket includes entry to a music and dance presentation from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We recommend arriving 30 minutes in advance at the Centro de Arte Nativo Qosqo located on Av. El Sol.

DAY 3: Sacred Valley of the Incas and Aguas Calientes

We start the tour to the sacred valley by visiting the archaeological center of Pisac, where you can observe Inca terraces used for cultivating various Andean products. Upon returning through Pisac, you will visit the Pisac Craft Market for shopping. Afterward, we will head to Cusco for a delicious lunch, followed by a visit to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, an impressive Inca construction, concluding our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will board the train from Ollantaytambo station to the town of Aguas Calientes. Our team will be waiting to take you to your hotel and provide you with a briefing (program for visiting Machu Picchu).

Note: We recommend bringing only a backpack with clothes for both cold and warm weather, accessories, documents, hats, and sunscreen. Large suitcases can be left in the hotel's storage in Cusco.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 4: Machu Picchu - Cusco

Our long-awaited day has arrived; we will visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the modern world.

Our team will take you to the bus station, which will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu in 30 minutes. We will start the tour of Machu Picchu accompanied by a guide to learn about its history. After the tour, you will have free time to explore and rest. Later, we will descend back to the town of Aguas Calientes to return to Ollantaytambo or Poroy station, where our team will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 5: Moray and Salt Mines

Breakfast at the hotel.

At 8:00 a.m., our team will pick you up at your hotel. We will pass through the town of Maras and then continue to the Archaeological Site of Moray, a great example of Inca engineering knowledge. This famous structure was used as an agricultural laboratory, and it is believed that more than 250 species of plants were cultivated on these terraces.

Later, we will continue to the town of Maras, which is home to over 3,000 man-made salt wells, known as the Salineras de Maras. We will end the tour by returning to the city of Cusco.

DAY 6: Rainbow Mountain

Today we will start very early in the town of Cusipata, where you will have breakfast, and then we will begin the 3.5 km hike offering a spectacular landscape towards Rainbow Mountain, which is at 5200 m above sea level. Upon your return, lunch will be waiting for you, and then we will return to Cusco.

Note: This tour requires good physical preparation, as it involves hiking at high altitude and low temperatures. There is the option to rent horses for part of the route, which can be arranged at the same location.

DAY 7: Transfer from Hotel to Cusco Airport

Tip:

If your flight departs in the afternoon, take advantage of the morning to visit the city's museums included in the tourist ticket, such as the Regional Museum, the Contemporary Art Museum, the Qoricancha Museum, and the Popular Art Museum.
